Birthday Parties at the Central Park Zoo

Introduction

The Central Park Zoo, through the services of Linda Kaye's Birthdaybakers Partymakers, has created the wildest and most imaginative birthday celebrations in the city.

Parties can take place winter, spring, summer and fall - rain or shine.* Each Safari is led by the Birthday child who is always made to feel very special.

All of the following themes have been designed to maintain the children's interest while learning about animals in a fun and adventurous way.

Party guests meet initially at the Zoo School (64th & 5th Ave.) where the Safari parties are organized. After the Safari through the zoo, the children return to base camp for party refreshments.

Parties are designed for children ages 1-10. The maximum number of children per party is 24.

*Approximately 90% of zoo exhibits are protected from weather.

Party Descriptions

• Animal Alphabet Safari THEMED PARTY FAVORS AND EXTRAS
  (Ages 1-4)

  The alphabet is the perfect starting point for children to learn all about the animals they will see on their journey through the zoo. Professor Doolittle captivates the party guests with puppets, songs, games and other playful activities.

  
  

• Safari Adventure Treasure Hunt THEMED PARTY FAVORS AND EXTRAS
  (Ages 4 and up)

  Safari explorers are outfitted with pith helmets and binoculars as Professor Doolittle leads the way to an exciting zoo adventure. Passports are issued to the party guests upon check-in. Pictures are taken against a Safari setting and passports become official once stamped with the signature of the birthday child.

  Guests come face-to face with Poison Dart Frogs, Red-bellied Piranhas, and Green-tree Pythons... as they take part in a treasure hunt that finally ends the search for the missing birthday crown! Children return to base camp and celebrate under a four poster safari tent.

  
  

• Animal Olympics THEMED PARTY FAVORS AND EXTRAS
  (Ages 5 and up)

  Let the Games Begin!!! Upon arrival party guests are transformed into world famous athletes as they create their very own flags to wear as Olympic uniforms. The birthday child carries the torch, leading the birthday team through the opening ceremonies and into the zoo. At each exhibit we participate in a different animal event - we roar like polar bears, clap like sea lions, and waddle like penguins. When we return to the Zoo School for food and cake, each party guest receives a medal for their energetic performance in the Animal Olympics.

• Photo Safari Adventure THEMED PARTY FAVORS AND EXTRAS
  (Ages 5 and up)

  Professor Doolittle teaches the party guests not only to talk to the animals, but also to see the animals through the eye of their very own cameras.

  As they visit the various zones, party guests capture the beauty of the colorful Toucans, the Red Pandas asleep in their tree-top, the Sea Lions and the Snow Monkeys at play. Afterwards, the safari photographers will celebrate under a four poster safari dining tent.

• Movie Making Zoo Mystery THEMED PARTY FAVORS AND EXTRAS
  (Ages 7-10)

  Lights, Camera, Action! Party guests star in the creation of their own movie mystery set in the animal habitats of the Central Park Zoo. With the help of a director, videographer, and costumer, the Birthday child takes the lead role as the Detective solving the mystery. After the film shoot, party guests return to base camp to view the movie they have created. The video is a special memento for the Birthday child.

• Hours

  Parties can be held 7 days a week between the hours of 10:00am and 5:00pm. There is a surcharge for exclusive use of the Zoo School before it opens to the public, and after closing hours. Parties can take place in any season.

  Deposit

  The base price of your party is due at the time of booking. Credit cards are accepted. Balance is payable on the day of the party.

  Refreshments, Favors, Decorations

  Partymakers can provide you with all your party needs: birthday cake, party favors, paper goods and balloons. Parents, if they so desire, may bring their own birthday cake; however, any additional food must be ordered through Partymakers.

*Favors/Cake/Food are subject to a Delivery Fee
*An Overtime Fee of $50 will be charged to parties exceeding scheduled party time

Party price includes:

• Invitations
• Admission to the Zoo (first 10 party guests and accompanying adults)
• Exclusive use of Zoo theater and private room for party refreshments
• Party staff provided with a ratio of one adult for every six children
